Is the Lesotho security sector ready for reforms.
The Transformation Resource Centre facilitated a debate forum with panellists Prof. Kopano Makoa , the former LDF commander Major General Makhula Mosakeng and TRC director Tsikoane Peshoane on 31 October 2018. The session’s audience comprised of civil society, media and academia and was conducted with the objective to unpacked the prevailing situation in the security sector and the readiness to reform the sector. The session came at a time when Lesotho is heading for constitutional and institutional reforms and therefore TRC and friends discussed the preparedness of government dialogue and engage all stakeholders in the security sector reform.

TRC participates at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the African Commission on the Human and People’s rights
Transformation Resource Centre participated and contributed in the NGOs Forum, the Commemorative Launch of ACDHRS’ 30th Anniversary Celebration and the 63rd Ordinary Session of the African Commission on the Human and People’s rights from 20 October ending 13 November 2018 in Banjul, the Republic of the Gambia. The Centre’s participation is in line with its African Union observer status for the protection and promotion of Human Rights and Democracy in Lesotho. The Centre sent delegates participate and submit periodical reports on the status of human rights in Lesotho as according to rule 68 of the rules procedure of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights adopted at its 47th ordinary session whereby NGOs may be granted obser status with the Commission and note their rights and obligations.
