These weapons were confiscated by the LDF in August 2014, a night that saw the shutdown of Local Radio Stations, raiding of some police stations and the death of Sub-Inspector Mokheseng Ramahloko. The operation was said to be an attempted coup but the then LDF authorities said it was meant to disarm members of the LMPS who were to assist some politicians.
