Most of the journalists and media practitioners who had participated at Transformation Resource Centre (TRC) or United States Development Programme (UNDP) on advancement of Millennium Development Goals assembled at Maseru Sun Cabanas on Friday on a Media Awards Ceremony which was intended to honour the contribution of media fraternity in acceleration of the implementation of the Goals.

Pursuant to this, different media houses also participated in the media competition that was organised by TRC and UNDP where media practitioners shared their individual experiences on reporting the MDGs with other fellow counterparts.

Lineo Wamusi from Lesotho News Agency (LENA) was awarded as the reporter for the month of November as well as an overall winner of the competition and walked away with a total price of M7000. Tsitsi Matope from the Public Eye Newspaper got the award of the second best reporter and was awarded with a total of M5000.

Speaking on behalf of UNDP, Mr. Thabo Mosoeunyana thanked the journalists for a great contribution they showed in reporting about the Millennium Development Goals but highlighted that a lot still has to be done in order to get very close to the attainment of these Goals. He gave great privilege and honour to the TRC team that worked tirelessly to see to it that a greater mile is walked towards the achievement of these Goals.
