Introduction
The Transformation Resource Centre (TRC) is an ecumenical, non-governmental resource centre that advocates for justice, peace and participatory development. It was established by a South African couple; Jimmy and Joan Stewart in 1979. TRC focuses on the promotion of democracy, human rights, rule of law, water and environmental justice, library and information dissemination, interactive debate and the strengthening of parliament.

Vision

A peaceful and just society transformed through Christian witness and participatory development, democracy and justice.

Mission Statement

Our mission as TRC is that of an ecumenical NGO striving for the enhancement of the poor and marginalised people’s participation in democracy, development and justice through information dissemination, education, advocacy and lobbying, with other like-minded bodies in Lesotho and internationally and shall use T4T and other methods of approach as required to carry out its mission.

Objectives of the TRC

The objectives of TRC as stated in its constitution are as follows:

  • To inculcate the principles of democracy, good governance and human rights in Basotho Society.
  • To inform and empower marginalised Basotho with regard to justice and development.
  • To lobby and advocate for justice and participatory development on behalf of Basotho citizens.
  • To conscientise the poor and the marginalized Basotho to demand their rights and gain access to natural resources.
  • To educate Basotho especially the poor and the marginalised, about their rights to receive and have access to information at all times.
  • To educate and conscientise Basotho on regional, continental and global issues.
